Jerry Janssen

Jerry Janssen has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Jerry currently works as an Associate Scientist at Leyden Labs since May 2023. Prior to this, they served as a PhD student at the Academic Medical Center (AMC) starting from April 2015. From May 2020 to April 2023, Jerry worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Sanquin. Before pursuing their academic career, they gained experience as a Waiter at Take2 Beach & Bungalows from March 2000 to October 2014. Additionally, they have held trainee positions at Karolinska Institutet, Department of Oncology/Pathology in 2011, and VU medisch centrum, Cancer Center Amsterdam, Department of Oncology-Pathology in 2010. Jerry also completed trainee programs at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Department of Molecular Cell Physiology in 2008 and worked as an Employee at Deco Fresh Flowers Rijnsburg from October 2007 to March 2008.

Jerry first attended Northgo College from 2000 to 2006, where they obtained a degree in Atheneum with a focus on Natuur&Gezondheid + Natuur&Techniek. Afterward, from 2006 to 2010, they enrolled at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam), where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences. Jerry then pursued further education at VU Amsterdam from 2009 to 2012, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Oncology. In addition to their formal education, Jerry has also obtained a certification in Presenting in English from Taalcentrum-VU, although the month and year of obtaining the certification are not specified.
