Senior Scientist - Immunology at Leyden Labs

Nuno Silva's work experience begins with their current role at Leyden Labs as a Senior Scientist in Immunology starting in June 2022. Prior to this, they worked at FairJourney Biologics from 2016 to 2022, starting as a Trainee and progressing to Senior Scientist. In their roles at FairJourney Biologics, Nuno was involved in various aspects of antibody discovery and engineering, including team leadership, training, and reporting. Nuno also gained experience in molecular biology techniques, production, and purification.

Prior to FairJourney Biologics, Nuno worked as a Research Fellow at the Cardiovascular R&D Unit, Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto from 2012 to 2016. Additionally, they worked as a Visiting Researcher at the Department of Flow Cytometry and Cell Separation, University of Salamanca in 2015, receiving advanced training in flow cytometry technology.

Nuno also has experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist at São João Hospital Centre (CHSJ) from 2011 to 2012. Before that, they worked as an Assistant Teacher and Master Trainee at the School of Health Technology of Oporto - Polytechnic Institute of Oporto from 2008 to 2011.

Nuno'searliest work experience was as a Trainee through the Erasmus program at Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, where they gained knowledge in electrical activity measurements and cell culture techniques.

Nuno Silva completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Metabolism - Clinical and Experimental from the FMUP - Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto in 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Biochemistry from the UBI - University of Beira Interior in 2009. Nuno also holds a Graduate degree in Biochemistry from the same university, which they completed in the years 2003-2008. In addition to their formal education, Nuno has obtained several certifications, including MS Project 2013: from basic to advanced from Udemy in August 2017, The Data Scientist's Toolbox from Coursera in February 2015, Laboratory Animal Science - Category C from the University of Porto in July 2013, Mathematical Biostatistics Boot Camp from Coursera in June 2013, and Essential Molecular Biology Course - Practical Laboratory Course from the Laboratory Support for Research in Molecular Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Oporto in July 2012.
