LG Display
Sungpil Ryu is a Chief Research Engineer at LG Display, with over a decade of experience since joining in July 2010. Ryu has contributed to various teams focusing on manufacturing roadmaps, yield improvement, OLED production technology, and mask reduction. Notably, Ryu has been instrumental in future technology development, including optical finger sensors and under-display cameras, as well as technology open innovation involving microLED and meta-materials. Prior to LG Display, Ryu served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science, achieving a significant milestone by levitating an amorphous alloy for the first time in Korea. Ryu holds a PhD in Optoelectronics from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, along with a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Physics from Chonnam National University.
