Derek Schmidt

Derek Schmidt is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in packaging engineering and product development within the beauty and personal care industries. Currently serving as the Head of New Product Engineering, Technical Services, and Beauty Sourcing at LG Household & Health Care, Ltd. since January 2018, Derek Schmidt oversees key teams involved in packaging engineering, development, design, and testing for the Avon brand in North America. Additionally, Derek Schmidt held the role of Executive Director of Package Engineering at The Avon Company following its acquisition by LG H&H in November 2019. Earlier in the career, Derek Schmidt contributed significantly to L'Oréal USA as Metier Director of Packaging for luxury skincare brands and held the position of Director of Package Development at Estee Lauder for multiple product lines. Derek Schmidt holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
