Matthew James Belfield has a diverse work experience history, starting with their role as a General Assistant at Tesco from February 2005 to May 2014. Matthew James then worked as a Customer Services Assistant at The Regent Theatre & The Victoria Hall from September 2010 to July 2011, where they gained experience in ticket checking, sales, and customer support. In 2012, they became a Communications Assistant at Bill Elms Associates, where they focused on enhancing the visibility and reputation of various arts, culture, and live entertainment clients. Moving forward, they joined XTRAX Arts in June 2014 and held various communication-related positions until August 2021, including Communications and Events Coordinator and Communications Manager. During their time at XTRAX Arts, they were responsible for creating effective communication strategies, handling public relations, and producing promotional materials for multiple projects and festivals. Their most recent role is with the LGBT Foundation, where they currently serve as the Head of Communications and Marketing.
Matthew James Belfield obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Events Management from Leeds Beckett University, which they attended from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Film, Television & Cultural Studies from The Manchester Metropolitan University between 2005 and 2008. Additionally, they hold a certification in "The Power of Podcasting for Storytelling" from the University of Wollongong, obtained in 2020.
