Charl Potgieter

Charl Potgieter is a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with extensive experience in software development and technical leadership. Currently at Lhotse since February 2023, Charl previously served at SweepSouth from October 2020 to January 2023, where responsibilities included leading a team focused on internationalizing the home services booking platform for new markets, such as Kenya and Nigeria. Charl's technical expertise spans backend technologies like Python (Django) and MySQL, as well as frontend frameworks including JavaScript and React. Charl has a strong background in infrastructure management using AWS, Terraform, and Docker, and has contributed to numerous enhancements in core systems, feature implementations, and optimizations. The professional path also includes earlier roles at Tripco, Van Ryn Brandy Distillery, Tiger Bytes, and Underwater Surveys, alongside a Bachelors degree in Geo-Informatics and Computer Science from Stellenbosch University.
