Megumi Iwata

Megumi Iwata has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Megumi currently works as a University Teacher at the University of Oulu, where they teach courses at the Fab Lab and is involved in the Mobile Fab Lab initiative that conducts digital fabrication workshops for students across Finland.

Prior to this, Megumi worked as a Business Development Manager - Asia Pacific at Code School Finland/Suomen Koodikoulu. Megumi'sresponsibilities in this role included communicating with potential customers, creating learning materials for programming education, and providing teacher training.

Megumi also has experience in sales support and translation at Liana Technologies, an internship at Haltian where they contributed to content development, design, and market research, and a position as a market research and communication specialist at Tera Consulting Oy.

Furthermore, Megumi has worked as a research assistant at the University of Oulu on a project developing an educational app for children's digital fabrication activities. Megumi has also been involved in jewelry design for the University of Oulu Botanical Garden and completed an internship at Fab Lab Oulu.

Additionally, they worked as a teaching assistant in the Master's program in Learning, Education, and Technology at the University of Oulu, where they provided technical support for students and pupils in digital fabrication activities.

Finally, Megumi worked as a coordinator at the Yokohama National University European Branch Office.

Megumi Iwata has an extensive education history. In 2006, they began their studies at Yokohama National University, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in International Business Management in 2010. Megumi then pursued further education at the University of Oulu, where they completed a Master's degree in Learning, Education, and Technology from 2016 to 2019.

During this time, in 2019, they also participated in the UBISS 2019 - 10th International UBI Summer School, which focused on the creation of virtual reality experiences. In the same year, they embarked on further study for a pedagogical qualification as a professional teacher at Oulu University of Applied Sciences, which they are expected to complete in 2022.

Additionally, Megumi Iwata has acquired expertise in web development through coursework at Oulu University of Applied Sciences. Megumi has also gained knowledge and practical skills in digital fabrication through their enrollment in the Fab Academy.

Furthermore, in 2020, they began their pursuit of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Education at the University of Oulu. As of now, it is unknown whether they have completed this degree.

In terms of additional certifications, Megumi Iwata participated in the AI Introduction course offered by Code School Finland / Suomen Koodikoulu in September 2021.
