Michael McGuire, Ph.D.

Michael McGuire, Ph.D. has a wide range of work experience in various industries. Michael currently works at LianBio as the Associate Director of Business Development, a role they have held since November 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Business Development Manager at LianBio from November 2020 to November 2021.

Before joining LianBio, McGuire worked at ClearView Healthcare Partners as a Consultant from September 2018 to November 2020.

From 2012 to 2018, they worked at MD Anderson Cancer Center. During this time, they held multiple roles including Graduate Education Committee Student Liaison from September 2014 to May 2018, and Graduate Research Fellow from September 2012 to May 2018.

In addition to their work in the healthcare and cancer research fields, McGuire also has experience in consulting and finance. Michael served as the Vice President of External Relations at the Consulting Club at the Texas Medical Center from December 2016 to December 2017. Michael also held the position of Assistant Vice President of Finance & Operations at the same club from July 2016 to December 2016.

McGuire's other experiences include serving as the Student Intercouncil Representative at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) from September 2016 to September 2017, and working as an Intern at Fannin Innovation Studio from October 2016 to February 2017.

Earlier in their career, McGuire worked as a Research Assistant at UCLA Health System from December 2010 to June 2012, and as a Lab Assistant at UCLA from September 2009 to November 2010.

Michael McGuire, Ph.D. began their education in 2006 at UCLA, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. Michael completed their undergraduate studies in 2010. Subsequently, they enrolled at the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Houston Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in 2012. Over the course of six years, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree, specializing in Oncology and Cancer Biology, which they successfully completed in 2018.
