Wayne M. Caines

Wayne M. Caines is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in leadership roles within both the public and private sectors in Bermuda. Currently serving as President of Liberty (Bermuda) and Bermuda Electric Light Company Limited (BELCO) since December 2020, Wayne M. Caines focuses on making a positive impact through sustainability and the provision of electricity. Previously, Wayne M. Caines held the position of Minister of National Security for the Government of Bermuda from 2017 to 2020, overseeing key agencies dedicated to public safety. Wayne M. Caines also served as Chief Executive Officer of Digicel Bermuda and Chief of Staff to the Premier of Bermuda, in addition to working as a Crown Counsel in the Department of Public Prosecutions from 2000 to 2006. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in History from Oakwood University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Kent at Canterbury.
