Almas Sayeed

Almas Sayeed has a diverse and extensive work experience. Almas is currently serving as the Vice President of Public Partnerships at Liberty Hill Foundation since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Principal at Upward Consulting, LLC from May 2021. Almas also served as a Housing Attorney specializing in motion practice and trial prep (Contract) at Public Counsel starting from April 2021.

From February 2018 to March 2021, Almas worked at California Immigrant Policy Center as the Deputy Director and Counsel. Almas'sresponsibilities included leading the organization's immigrant justice program and managing a team of 27 staff members. Almas also spearheaded statewide campaigns and managed a budget of over $4.7 million.

Before that, they were a Visiting Fellow at Roosevelt Institute's Economic Inclusion Project from December 2017 to December 2019. Almas also served as a Policy Advisor/General Counsel at National Domestic Workers Alliance from August 2015 to February 2018.

Almas started their career as a Staff Attorney/Skadden Fellow at Inner City Law Center from August 2012 to October 2014. Almas also worked as a Senior Policy Analyst at the Federal Office for the New York Governor from August 2007 to June 2009 and as a Managing Analyst for Senator Charles Schumer (Chair) at the United States Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs from January 2007 to August 2007. Additionally, they served as an Economic Policy Analyst at the Center for American Progress from February 2006 to January 2007.

Almas Sayeed has a diverse educational background. Almas earned their Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) - School of Law, where they specialized in the Epstein Program in Public Interest and Policy & Empirical Legal Scholars Program. From 2003 to 2004, they pursued a Master's Degree at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) with a focus on Finance and Economic Development. In 2002 to 2003, they pursued another Master's Degree as a Fullbright Fellow at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, specializing in International Relations and Affairs. Prior to these advanced degrees, Almas obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from The University of Kansas in Philosophy, Political Science, and International Studies.

Additionally, Almas has obtained certifications for Bar Admission from both the State Bar of California and the Kansas Bar Association, although the specific dates of these certifications are not provided.
