Mafalda Duarte

Mafalda Duarte has a strong background in legal and compliance roles. Mafalda started their career at Mondial Assistance in 2004, working in the Internal Control Department. In 2006, they moved to Marketware where they provided legal advice. Mafalda then joined Liberty Seguros Portugal in 2007, initially working in the Legal and Compliance Office, and later becoming the Head of Legal and a Data Privacy Specialist. In 2017, they took on a short-term assignment at Liberty Seguros España, focusing on compliance. Throughout their career, Mafalda has gained expertise in various legal and compliance areas, including data protection.

Mafalda Duarte's education history includes several courses and degrees in different fields of study. In 1996 to 2001, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Law from Universidade Clássica de Lisboa. Later, in 2008 to 2009, they pursued a Postgraduate degree in Banking and Insurance Law from Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa. In 2011, they completed a course on implementing an effective Corporate Compliance program at iir Portugal. In 2013, they participated in an Intensive Course on Updates in Civil Procedural Law at Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa. Additionally, in 2014, they completed a Brief Course on Legal English at Centro de Estudos Judiciários, and a course on Personal Data Protection - Theory and Practice at Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Finally, in 2021, they studied Competition Law at Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
