Melanie gained her nursing qualification from WINTEC in the Waikato 28 years ago. Initially working in Auckland and London hospitals for 4 years, she then took up an NGO medical post in South Sudan, co-ordinating emergency and development health programmes. Over the last 20yrs, Melanie has subsequently worked in a variety of healthcare roles in the UK, Cambodia, Myanmar and NZ, including health education, primary health care, social housing, mental health and addiction services, long-term- chronic conditions and disability sectors. Melanie is passionate about providing high-quality, individualised care to support clients with healthcare challenges to live their best lives in the community.
In her spare time, Melanie enjoys spending quality time with her whanau, hiking, swimming, cooking, travelling and exploring new countries and cultures.
