Chairman and Founder Life Science Angels at Life Science Angels

Allan May has been in the medical device, biotech and diagnostics industry since 1996, when they began working as a co-Founder, Chairman, CEO or Investor in over 100 companies. In 2005, they founded and became Chairman of Life Science Angels, the largest and most well-known early-stage investment group in the U.S. In 2006, they became Managing Partner of Emergent Medical Partners Venture Fund I. In 2007, they became Chairman of the Board and Board Member of the Angel Resource Institute; Angel Capital Association. In 2016, they founded and became Chairman of Woodside Medical Management, an incubator focused on helping US based medical device and diagnostics companies commercialize their products in China. In 2020, they became Chairman of the Board of FundamentalVR, a market leader in surgical AR/VR technology. Finally, in 2022, they became Chairman of InnoSIGN, Inc.

Allan May attended Kent State University from 1965 to 1969, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government. Allan then attended Case Western Reserve University School of Law from 1969 to 1972, where they earned a Doctor of Law.
