Jon Newton

Jon Newton 张杰瀚 has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Jon co-founded and served as the Managing Director of Life Solutions since 2008. Additionally, they are an Adjunct Assistant Professor at NYU Shanghai, where they specialize in Organizational Behavior. Jon also founded Chinapreneur | China Business Insights and worked as a Keynote Speaker. At SKEMA Business School, they held the position of Adjunct Professor in Management and was affiliated with Fudan University as an Adjunct Professor. Jon Newton served as a Non-Executive Director and Co-owner at Wire World SA and held leadership positions at Shanghai Cricket Club and Pepkor Global Sourcing (PGS). Notably, they were the General Manager and Country Head for PGS, where they facilitated significant restructuring, managed multi-million dollar orders, and achieved cost reductions through China sourcing operations. Prior to that, Jon worked as a Services Manager at Citi.

Jon Newton 张杰瀚 has an extensive education history. Jon earned a B.Comm degree in Commercial Accounting from Stellenbosch University in 2000. Jon then pursued a B. Comm (Hons) in Accounting from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika in 2002. In 2003, they obtained an MBA in International Business from National Cheng Kung University.

To enhance their language skills, Jon completed Advanced Language Studies in Mandarin Chinese (Verbal & Reading) at Taipei Language Institute - TLI in 2003. Jon further expanded their knowledge by obtaining Professional Chinese Literacy (HSK Level 5) certification from Confucius Institute Online.

Seeking higher education, Jon pursued a Masters in Entrepreneurship at the University of Cambridge, Judge Business School from 2018 to 2020. Currently, they are a Doctor of Business Administration (Candidate) specializing in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at Cranfield University, expected to be completed in 2025.

In addition to their academic accomplishments, Jon holds various certifications. Jon is a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA, CGMA) from CIMA, a Public Accountant (Fellow, FIPA) from the Institute of Public Accountants, and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI).
