Mikayla Savastano

Mikayla Savastano has a diverse work experience in the fields of strategic account management, sales, laboratory assistance, and research. Mikayla currently holds the position of Senior Strategic Account Manager at Lifebit since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Velsera as a Life Sciences Territory Sales Manager, where they achieved significant growth in the pipeline, closed important accounts, and became the highest performing TSM in the US. Mikayla was also promoted to Field Sales Trainer and lead of the "Brand Champion" marketing initiative.

Before Velsera, Mikayla worked at The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont as a Level III Laboratory Assistant. Their responsibilities included various tasks related to research projects in areas such as mitochondrial function, epigenome, and long-term effects of drugs on cognition and microbiome in mouse models. Mikayla also worked as a Level III Laboratory Assistant at the University of Vermont, where they conducted research on low-fat diets in bovine models and helped with lipid extractions and cell line maintenance.

Furthermore, Mikayla worked as a Research Assistant at Rockland Community College, where they contributed to a project on the treatment of multi-drug resistant tuberculosis using targeted bacteriophages. Mikayla also worked as a Distillation Technician at TFUCO, conducting distillation and extractions of plant samples, and as a Research Assistant at Ramapo College of New Jersey, where they performed various spectroscopy techniques, isotopic analysis, and assisted upperclassmen in their research. Overall, Mikayla has demonstrated a strong skill set in sales, laboratory techniques, research, and project management throughout their career.

Mikayla Savastano's education history includes a Master of Science (MS) degree in Pharmacogenomics from the University of Cincinnati, which they pursued from 2022 to 2024. Prior to their master's degree, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry from the University of Vermont. Additionally, they hold a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from the same university. Mikayla also completed an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Chemistry from Rockland Community College.

In addition to their formal education, Mikayla has attained several certifications. Mikayla obtained certifications in Animal Biosafety, BSL-2 Basic Course, General Lab Animal Training, and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens from the CITI Program. Mikayla also holds a certification as a Certified Fitness Professional from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
