Varun Bhaskar Kothamachu, Ph.D

Varun Bhaskar Kothamachu, Ph.D has had a varied and extensive work experience. In 2022, they began working as a Solutions Architect at Lifebit. From 2019-2022, they held two roles at Digi.Bio: Head of Product and Lead Scientist and Early Access Program Manager. In 2019, they were also selected as one of the Top 100 Leaders of Tomorrow at GAPSummit 2019 at Global Biotech Revolution. From 2017-2016, they held two postdoctoral positions: Postdoctoral Research Associate, Control Engineering and Synthetic Biology at the University of Edinburgh School of Engineering, and Postdoctoral Computational Biologist at The Babraham Institute. During this time, they were also a Visiting Researcher at the European Bioinformatics Institute | EMBL-EBI. From 2015-2014, they held two roles: Product Head at CogitoHub, and Project Manager and Content Head- Labiotech Tour India at LabSnaps. In 2014, they founded FriedPea Technology Pvt Ltd. In 2010, they began their career as a BRIO intern at GlaxoSmithKline.

Varun Bhaskar Kothamachu, Ph.D. began their education in 2004 when they earned a B.E in Biotechnology and life sciences like biochemistry, cell and molecular biology from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). In 2008, they completed an MSc in Drug discovery and translation biology and biological sciences from The University of Edinburgh. Finally, Varun Bhaskar Kothamachu, Ph.D. earned their PhD from the University of Exeter in 2016.
