Stylianos Orestis Sarrigiannidis, PhD has a diverse range of work experience. Stylianos Orestis is currently working as a Business Analyst at Lifescience Dynamics Limited, where they began in February 2023. Prior to this, from January 2022 to September 2022, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Centre for the Cellular Microenvironment. In this role, they developed 3D printable bio-inks with controllable viscoelastic properties for tissue regeneration. Stylianos Orestis collaborated with researchers from different scientific disciplines and studied the role of viscosity in tissues on cell fate.
From October 2017 to August 2022, Sarrigiannidis was an Industrial PhD Student at the University of Glasgow. Stylianos Orestis focused on developing collagen composite devices for bone augmentation under the supervision of three professors. During their time there, they also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, teaching undergraduate engineering mathematics and materials courses, conducting mechanical testing, and assessing student performance.
In 2019, Sarrigiannidis worked as a Visiting PhD Student at McGill University. Stylianos Orestis worked in the lab of Prof. Faleh Tamimi to develop collagen-brushite cements for enhanced biological and mechanical properties.
In 2016, Sarrigiannidis had two roles at ETH Zurich. Stylianos Orestis worked as a Teaching Assistant, lecturing on control theory and developing lab exercises for undergraduate students. Stylianos Orestis also conducted a master's research study in the SMS rehabilitation robotics lab, researching the effects of kinematic error modulation on self-efficacy and motor learning.
Earlier in their career, Sarrigiannidis was the Vice President of Enactus Glasgow, an organization focused on empowering individuals through business and entrepreneurial skills. Stylianos Orestis was also an FS Powertrain Engineer at UGRacing, designing and building an intake manifold for their race car. Additionally, they have held positions as a Summer Intern at PLiN Nanotechnology and a Research Assistant at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Overall, Sarrigiannidis' work experience includes roles in research, teaching, business analysis, and engineering, showcasing their multidisciplinary expertise in various fields.
Stylianos Orestis Sarrigiannidis, PhD received their International Baccalaureate degree in Mathematics HL, Physics HL, and Chemistry HL from Pearson College UWC in 2012. Stylianos Orestis then pursued their Master's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering at the University of Glasgow from 2012 to 2017. Following this, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Glasgow between 2017 and 2022.
