Kevin Colbert has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and biotechnology industries. Kevin started their career as an Orthopedic Research Assistant at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where they conducted animal research studies and authored a thesis on wound healing and tissue response.

In 2013, Kevin joined HemoGlobe, where they served as a Product Development Manager. Kevin developed a low-cost, non-invasive screening tool for anemia patients in developing countries and collaborated with medical personnel and government officials to validate health needs and conduct testing. The technology was optioned to Robert Bosch Engineering for development and distribution.

Kevin then co-founded LifeSprout and Glyscend, both spin-off companies from Johns Hopkins University. At Glyscend, they secured $2 million in grant funding for initial R&D efforts and conducted experiments to demonstrate proof of concept. Kevin also played a key role in the company's growth, serving as the Director of Operations, raising $20.5 million in Series A financing, and expanding the team size.

Similarly, at LifeSprout, Kevin supported the CEO in closing a $6.5 million Series Seed financing and contributed to the company's growth as the Director of Operations. Kevin raised $28.5 million in Series A financing and managed a team expansion from 2 to 12 full-time employees.

More recently, Kevin has been working as a Senior Director of Operations & Strategy at Glyscend, overseeing the company's operations and strategic direction.

Kevin Colbert obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering with a Biomechanical Emphasis from The University of Kansas in August 2007. Afterward, they pursued further education and completed a Master's degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from The University of Kansas, starting in 2012 and ending in 2013. In 2013, they went on to earn a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University, completing the program in 2014. Additionally, Kevin Colbert obtained certification in Fundamentals of Engineering from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) in May 2011.
