Max Fedor has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Max'smost recent position was as the Director at LifeX Labs, starting in September 2020. Prior to that, from 2018 to 2020, they served as the Executive Director of Pittsburgh CREATES at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where they spearheaded collaborations between industry partners, clinicians, and engineers for developing advanced surgical technologies.
From 2014 to 2018, Max held the position of Coulter Program Director at the University of Pittsburgh, where they facilitated the translation of faculty-sponsored research technologies into commercialization through business support, education, and funding.
Between 2009 and 2014, they worked as the President and CEO of BIOSAFE Inc., a company specializing in environmentally safe coatings and plastics additives, which was later acquired by Gelest.
From 2007 to 2009, Max served as an Executive in Residence at the Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse (PLSG), providing capital and management support to early-stage life sciences companies.
Earlier in their career, they held the role of Vice President of Operations at Tissue Informatics and Affiliates from 2002 to 2007.
Before that, Max had various positions, including President and CEO, Vice President, and Group Manager, in different organizations, including a successful technology start-up and an early-stage biotechnology company. Max also worked as a Senior Program Manager for an in-vitro diagnostics program of an international technology company.
Max Fedor completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Sciences from Harvard University between 1974 and 1979. Later, they pursued an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business from 1980 to 1982.
