Elizabeth Basilio is an experienced specialist in the field of vision impairment, currently serving as an Early Childhood Blind and Low Vision Specialist at LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired since December 2021. Prior to this role, Elizabeth worked as a Vision Impairment Specialist at Blind Babies Foundation for over 16 years, following an internship as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist with the Veteran Administration. Elizabeth also gained experience as a Student Teacher for Orientation and Mobility at both Los Angeles Unified School District and Los Angeles County Office of Education, focusing on children and infants with visual impairments and multiple disabilities. Elizabeth holds a Master’s Degree in Orientation & Mobility and a Teaching Credential in Special Education: Vision Impairment, both from California State University, Los Angeles, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley.
