Darius Bunandar

Chief Scientist at Lightmatter

Darius Bunandar is the current Chief Scientist at Lightmatter. Darius was previously an intern at Sandia National Laboratories from January 2016 to December 2016. Darius was also a PhD Candidate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology from January 2013 to December 2019. Additionally, they were a Research Collaborator at Caltech from January 2012 to December 2013, where they were a member of the Simulating eXtreme Spacetime (SXS) collaboration. Finally, they were a Blast Effects Co-op Engineer at Baker Engineering and Risk Consultants, Inc. from January 2011 to December 2011.

Darius Bunandar earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. Darius then went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

They are on a team with Beth Keil - VP, People, Steve Klinger - VP, Product, and Thomas Graham - Co-Founder & COO. Their manager is Nicholas Harris, CEO.
