Curtis Johnson received his M.S. degree in geology in 2015 from Oregon State University (OSU) under Dr. John H. Dilles and received his Ph.D. degree in 2020 at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) studying the Phoenix-Fortitude porphyry-skarn system, and regional controls on gold mineralization in the Great Basin, USA. After completing studies at OSU in 2015 and prior to joining UNR in 2017, Curtis Johnson worked in production and exploration roles for Newmont Mining Corporation in the northern Carlin Trend, at the Phoenix Mine in Nevada, and regionally in the western USA. He is currently a senior economic geologist with EMX Royalty Corporation focused on gold project generation in Idaho and Nevada.
