Steve Mason

Steve Mason serves Lightning eMotors as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary. He has over 20 years of experience in practicing law as outside counsel, working for the U.S. Attorney’s office, the City of Fort Collins and law firm Chapman & Cutler, as well as working as in-house counsel for the past 10 years as VP and Deputy General Counsel. He has deep legal experience in litigation, commercial transactions, contract terms and issues, mergers and acquisitions, corporate financing, renewable energy, and public board corporate governance.

Mason received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame; his JD from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and has studied environmental and natural resources law at Lewis & Clark Law School. He has also taught ethics and business law as an adjunct professor at Colorado State University.
