Carrie Ambler's work experience includes holding the position of Chief Scientific Officer at LightOx Limited since 2016. In this role, they played a crucial role in the establishment and development of the biotech company, securing funding and ensuring strong governance.
Prior to joining LightOx, Carrie worked at Durham University starting in 2007. Carrie progressed to become a Professor in the Biosciences Department, specializing in biosciences and conducting research on skin stem cells and cutaneous diseases. Carrie also established collaborations with notable institutions such as the Liverpool NHS Trust and Oxford University's Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology.
Earlier in their career, Carrie worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Cancer Research UK.
Carrie Ambler pursued their education with a strong focus in the field of science. Carrie obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to this, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Horticulture at Kansas State University, starting in 1997 and graduating in 2002.
