Thermal Systems Engineering at Lightship

Nicholas Boone has over five years of work experience in the mechanical engineering field. In 2015, they worked as a Technical Writing Assistant and Programming CO-OP at Nevada Automotive Test Center. In 2016, they were a Mechanical Design Intern at Proterra Inc. In 2017, they were a Mechanical Engineering CO-OP at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where they assisted in electro-mechanical actuator testing for the robotic drill on NASA’s Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover. From 2018 to 2022, they worked at Proterra Inc as a Project Engineer and Associate Engineer. As Project Engineer, they designed, developed, and sustained thermal management systems for battery electric buses, including passenger cabin heating and battery/drivetrain temperature regulation. As Associate Engineer, they authored and executed test plans for several high-impact new vehicle configurations and interpreted technical regulations to ensure full compliance with customers’ practical and legislative needs. Currently, they are a Thermal Systems Engineering at Lightship.

Nicholas Boone attended Clemson University from 2013 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Nicholas then attended Universitat Internacional de Catalunya in 2022, where they earned a Master's Degree in BioDigital Architecture.
