Matthew Lafko

Matthew Lafko has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Matthew currently holds the position of Account Executive at Lightspeed, A Learning Company since 2021. Prior to that, from 2019 to 2021, they worked at Turnitin as the Strategic Accounts Development Manager for North America, where they developed a business plan and managed enterprise accounts.

Before joining Turnitin, Matthew worked at National Geographic from 2017 to 2019 as a Learning Consultant/Account Manager. In this role, they oversaw the implementation of new educational programs, conducted sales and professional development presentations, and closed high-value sales deals.

Matthew has also served as the Education Director at Pace School in Monroeville, PA from 2015 to 2016. Matthew supervised and evaluated teaching staff, developed professional development plans, and ensured compliance with regulations.

From 2007 to 2015, Matthew worked in the Slippery Rock Area School District as the Elementary Principal, High School Assistant Principal, and Director of Federal Programs. Matthew trained and monitored teachers, maintained student performance, and supervised extracurricular activities.

Prior to their work in education, Matthew held the position of Operations Manager at Kennedy Wilson from 2001 to 2003. In this role, they managed day-to-day operations, maintenance, security, and events for a large mixed-use space.

Before transitioning to education and operations management, Matthew worked as an Assistant Principal, Teacher, and Athletic Coach at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction from 2003 to 2007.

Matthew Lafko has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Westminster College (PA). Matthew also obtained an ED.S degree in Organizational/Educational Leadership and Administration from Liberty University, as well as a Master's Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Emporia State University. Matthew has completed the IS-100 Incident Command course from FEMA. Furthermore, Matthew has an Advanced Post-Graduate Certification in Organizational and Administrative Leadership from the National Institute of School Leadership. Matthew also holds certifications as a K-12 Administrator and a Vocational Administrative Director from the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Additionally, Matthew obtained BANT and Challenger Executive Sales Certifications.
