Abbas Mehrpouya has a diverse work experience spanning across different roles and industries. Abbas is currently employed as the Lead Mechanical Engineer (Exterior/Bumper systems) at Lightyear since September 2022. Prior to joining Lightyear, they worked at FERCHAU as a Project Manager, overseeing the development of cooling module components from October 2019 to August 2022.
From December 2014 to September 2019, Abbas worked at EDAG Group, where they held the position of Projektmanager and design engineer in body engineering. During their tenure, they were responsible for various projects, including the development of a "charger interface" for Porsche electric cars, managing the design and production processes, and collaborating with OEMs and suppliers. Abbas also conducted failure analysis, optimization, and release processes for Porsche-DMU and HyperKVS.
Before joining EDAG Group, Abbas gained valuable experience at Mercedes-Benz AG as a student trainee, working on equipment/resource planning (Doors/Cockpit) and assembly planning and logistics from June 2013 to April 2014 and October 2012 to April 2013, respectively.
Prior to their stint at Mercedes-Benz AG, Abbas worked as a scientific assistant at Universität Stuttgart, focusing on Interfacedesign and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) from October 2011 to October 2012.
Earlier in their career, Abbas served as a Trade Manager at Iranian Sibasaz Sarmad from May 2007 to October 2008 and as a Design Engineer (safety belts) at Andisheh Imeni Khodro from February 2006 to May 2007.

Abbas Mehrpouya has a Bachelor's degree in Maschinenbau (Thermal Fluids) from Islamic Azad University, which they obtained from 2000 to 2004. Abbas also completed an Ausbildung in Automobilmechanik/Mechaniker from Ostadi Institute between 2004 and 2005. Lastly, they have a Diplom-Ingenieur in Maschinenbau from the University of Stuttgart, where they studied from 2009 to 2014.
