Colin Kolbus has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Most recently, they worked as a Process Engineer at Lilac Solutions, Inc. starting in 2023. Prior to that, in 2022, they served as an Associate Geology Instructor at Cabrillo College. From 2021 to 2023, they worked at Prometheus, first as an Analytical Chemist and later as an Environmental Engineer. During their time at Prometheus, Colin conducted research on turning atmospheric CO2 into gasoline, developed analytical methods, and created a data analysis program. Colin also worked as a Sustainability Intern at Stanford University from 2020 to 2021 and as a Graduate Researcher at Stanford University School of Engineering from 2020 to 2021. In their undergraduate years at the University of Washington, they held positions as an Undergraduate Research Assistant and Undergraduate Researcher, focusing on climate change's impact on arsenic uptake in rice and conducting research on microbial-induced calcite precipitation. Colin Kolbus holds a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Stanford University, which they obtained from 2020 to 2021. Prior to this, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Washington, from 2016 to 2020. Besides their formal education, Colin has also obtained additional certifications, including an Engineer In Training certification from the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists in May 2022, and another Engineer In Training certification from the Florida Board of Professional Engineers in December 2020.
