Kristin August (Frownfelter) is an experienced art educator and ceramic artist with a diverse teaching background spanning over 15 years. Currently serving as an Art Teacher at the Evanston Art Center and as an ArtReach Teaching Artist at ArtReach at Lillstreet, Kristin also engages with community members at Gilda's Club, facilitating creative clay workshops. Kristin's teaching experience includes roles as a long-term substitute teacher across multiple institutions, including Leyden High School District 212 and Highland Park High School, where art subjects such as AP Art, photography, and ceramics were taught. An independent ceramic artist specializing in sculptural and functional ceramics, Kristin holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, along with K-12 certification in Illinois.
