Hong Qian has extensive experience in the field of software engineering. Hong started their career at Fujitsu Network Communications in 1997, working as a software engineer until 1998. Hong then joined Infoseek as a software engineer from 1998 to 2000. From 2000 to 2001, they worked as a software engineer at 2netfx, where they developed distributed server software for video streaming over enterprise networks.
In 2001, Hong Qian joined Resonate as a software engineer, where they developed traffic management software for monitoring Cisco CSS and Nortel Alteon switches. Hong then worked at Avistar Communications as a software engineer from 2002 to 2004, developing software for the distributed server system for a video conference system.
From 2004 to 2015, Hong Qian worked at Good Technology as a software engineer and architect. Hong was responsible for developing and maintaining the secured server cluster software for the company's NOC or data center. During this time, they used C++ in Solaris/UNIX and Windows, utilizing thread pools and socket network programming.
In 2015, Hong Qian joined Apple as an engineer, working until 2017. Hong then joined Uber as an engineer in 2017, before finally joining Lime in 2019 as a staff engineer.
Hong Qian has a Master's degree (MS) in Computer Science from the University of Alberta, which was obtained during the period from 1992 to 1994. Before that, Hong Qian earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Tsinghua University from 1985 to 1990. In addition to their formal education, Hong Qian also holds a certification as a Triplebyte Certified Generalist Software Engineer, obtained in August 2020 from Triplebyte.
