Rex Sumsion

Rex Sumsion serves as the Head of Data, AI, and Engineering at Limelight Intelligence since September 2023. Prior to this role, Rex was a Manager AI Engineer at KPMG from July 2019 to August 2023, where significant achievements included leading a team for an $80+ million AWS cloud migration that resulted in ninefold delivery improvements and zero outstanding data quality issues. Rex also served as a Senior Associate and Associate AI Engineer at KPMG, where responsibilities included developing production operating models, enhancing client onboarding times, and improving NLP frameworks. Earlier internships at Stratesis, Health Catalyst, Center For Genome Interpretation, and a research assistantship at Brigham Young University provided valuable experience in data science, machine learning, and software development. Rex holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and dual Bachelor's degrees in Bioinformatics and Statistics from Brigham Young University.
