Rick Corona

Rick Corona has extensive work experience in the field of network engineering and IT infrastructure. Rick is currently working as a Network Engineer at Linchpin Solutions, Inc. Since joining in October 2021.

Prior to their current position, Rick worked at San Diego County Credit Union as a Manager, IT Infrastructure from November 2017 to September 2021. In this role, they directly managed a team of network, telecom, database, network security, and systems engineers. Rick collaborated with other departments to ensure new solutions met disaster recovery and business continuity requirements, and served as a liaison between the business and various committees and project groups. Rick also worked as an Infrastructure Architect at the same company from November 2017 to November 2020. As an Infrastructure Architect, Rick was responsible for defining and implementing enterprise IT infrastructure requirements and leading the implementation of new architectures.

Before working at San Diego County Credit Union, Rick had a 10-year tenure at Abbott. Rick worked as a Security Infrastructure Architect from September 2015 to November 2017. In this role, they incorporated security awareness into projects, guided the deployment of cyber security tools, and provided technical assistance to colleagues. Prior to this, Rick worked as a Senior Network Security Engineer at Abbott from September 2007 to September 2015. Rick was responsible for the architecture and deployment of network security solutions and played a key role in security audits and mitigation efforts.

Before Abbott, Rick worked at Guidant as a Senior Network Engineer from 2004 to 2007. In this role, they planned, designed, and installed the company's IPSec wide area network and ensured connectivity to remote sites. Rick also worked at Pomeroy IT Solutions as a Network Engineer from 2004 to 2005, where they supported and designed the IPSec infrastructure.

Rick started their career as an Independent Network Consultant at Corona Network Solutions from 2003 to 2004. In this role, they provided technical assistance to customers and onsite support. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Network Support Engineer at CoSine Communications from 2000 to 2002, where they provided troubleshooting and technical assistance. Rick also worked at Nortel Networks as a Senior Network Support Engineer from 1997 to 2000, supporting various networking technologies.

Rick Corona attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 1992 to 1997, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. In addition to their degree, Rick has obtained two additional certifications. In November 2014, they earned the CISSP certification from (ISC)². Moreover, in September 2022, Rick obtained the Cisco Certified Network Professional Enterprise (CCNP Enterprise) certification from Cisco.
