Tom Torhan has a diverse work experience ranging from project management to web development. Tom started their career at Merrill Lynch as a Project Manager and Senior Editorial Assistant, where they were responsible for managing the production of marketing materials and ensuring compliance with legal standards. Tom then worked at MetLife as a Creative Analyst, where they developed project databases and computerized forms to improve department efficiency.
Tom also worked at Citi Group/CitiStreet Plan Services as a Marketing & Sales Support Specialist, where they developed and maintained databases to track 401(k) enrollments and provided support to financial consultants and clients. Tom then joined Ortho Biotech as a Systems Development Consultant, responsible for maintaining a corporate intranet site and troubleshooting user problems.
At Johnson & Johnson, Tom worked as a Web Tools Developer, where they designed and maintained a portal for the Department of Global Service Delivery. Tom also developed web-based project tracking and reporting applications.
Tom's experience in web development continued at Wyeth, where they served as a Web Developer, responsible for maintaining the corporate intranet site and ensuring adherence to corporate standards. Later, they worked at the Society of Financial Service Professionals as a Web Developer, redesigning the organization's website to improve usability and expand its online presence.
Most recently, Tom worked at Lincoln Investment as a Senior ColdFusion Web Applications Developer and a Blue Prism/RPA Developer. In the former role, they were responsible for creating, enhancing, and maintaining web-based applications for employees and financial representatives. In the latter role, they had experience with Blue Prism and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) development.
Throughout their career, Tom has gained experience in various technologies including ColdFusion, SQL/Oracle, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and Microsoft Access.
Tom Torhan obtained a Diploma in Computer Programming from The Chubb Institute in the year 2000. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Marketing from William Paterson University of New Jersey, between the years 1989 and 1993. In addition to their formal education, Tom Torhan obtained the SAFe 5.1 Practitioner Certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. in March 2023.
