Senior Director, Animal Welfare Science & Fisher Center For The Study And Conservation Of Apes at Lincoln Park Zoo

Katherine Cronin has a diverse work experience in various prestigious institutions. Katherine started their career as an Associate in Research at Duke University in 2001, followed by a role as a Studbook Analyst at Lincoln Park Zoo from 2002 to 2004. Katherine then transitioned to the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics/Evolutionary Anthropology as a Staff Scientist from 2010 to 2014. Katherine returned to Lincoln Park Zoo in 2014, where they held roles as a Senior Animal Welfare Scientist and later Director of the Animal Welfare Science Program. In 2022, Katherine became the Senior Director of Animal Welfare Science & Fisher Center for the Study and Conservation of Apes at Lincoln Park Zoo. Concurrently, they served as a Faculty Member in the Committee on Evolutionary Biology at the University of Chicago from 2016 to 2022.

Katherine Cronin obtained their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Animal Behavior and Ethology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2004 to 2009.
