Thomas (Rock) Mackie has held various leadership roles throughout their career. Thomas (Rock) is currently a Board Member at Cosylab since February 2021. Prior to this, they served as Vice Chair Board of Directors at the International Commission on Radiation Units and Measurements (ICRU) starting from March 2015. In 2020, they founded Linectra. Thomas (Rock) also held the position of Vice Chair Board of Directors at WiSolve, a not-for-profit association of University of Wisconsin graduate students and post-doctoral trainees focused on business education and consulting. At the Morgridge Institute for Research, they served as Emeritus Investigator and Director of Medical Engineering, where they supervised a diverse group of scientists and engineers and managed the Advanced Fabrication Laboratory (Fab Lab). Additionally, they were Chairman of the Board at Asto CT and OnLume, and a Board Member at SHINE Medical Technologies, Inc. throughout their career.
Thomas (Rock) Mackie pursued their education in a well-defined chronological manner. Thomas (Rock) began their academic journey by enrolling at the University of Saskatchewan in 1976, where they studied Physics. Thomas (Rock) completed their Bachelor's Degree in Physics in 1980 and then furthered their education at the University of Alberta. At the University of Alberta, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Medical Physics, which they successfully obtained in 1984.
