Ganesan Venkatasubramanian is the current Vice President of Engineering at LinkedIn. Ganesan has over 20 years of experience in the software industry, holding various positions such as Project Lead, CTO, and Senior Software Consultant.

Venkatasubramanian started their career as a Software Engineer at Manton Communications Corporation in 1998. Ganesan then moved to Locus Information Systems in 2000, where they worked as a Senior Software Consultant for two years. In 2002, they joined iGate Global Solutions as a Project Lead. Ganesan was offshore liaison and lead of a eleven member team for the implementation of a loan and grant management system for an Australian government entity. Ganesan also led a twenty member team in the analysis, design and implementation of a web-based travel system for a major Japanese company. Venkatasubramanian successfully managed a sudden increase in workload requiring a team size growth from 7 to 20 in 2 weeks by mentoring and efficiently integrating new team members. Ganesan provided pre-sales support via estimation and writing technical solutions for more than ten proposals for RFPs in the Asia-Pacific region. Ganesan implemented CMM and ISO processes for software development and project management.

In 2004, Venkatasubramanian left iGate Global Solutions to join Socratic Learning Inc. as their CTO. Ganesan held this position for five years until 2009. After leaving Socratic Learning Inc., they joined LinkedIn as their Vice President of Engineering, a position they still hold today.

Ganesan Venkatasubramanian obtained a B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Ganesan then pursued an MS in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, followed by an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution.
