Alistair Smith

Alistair Smith serves as the Global Director of Communications and Corporate Affairs at Linklaters since September 2022, bringing extensive experience from previous roles including Strategic Communications Director for EY in the UK and Ireland from November 2017 to September 2022, and Managing Director of Corporate Communications at Barclays for over a decade. At Barclays, Alistair led the corporate narrative and communications strategy, along with overseeing communications in both the Retail and Business Banking and Corporate divisions. Prior to Barclays, Alistair held key positions in media relations and integration communications at Absa and Barclays. Alistair's career began at Ernst & Young and Porter Novelli with a focus on public relations. Educationally, Alistair holds an MSc in Public Relations from the University of Stirling, a BA (Hons) in Politics from the University of Strathclyde, and has completed a leadership course at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
