Joe Welch

Joe Welch is the Director of Property Fund Risk Management at Lionstone Investments. Joe has over 10 years of experience in the risk management industry, with a focus on real estate. Joe has a bachelor's degree in risk management and insurance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Joe began their career as a marketing representative for Federated Insurance, before moving into the role of management trainee at Enterprise Rent-A-Car. In 2010, they joined Willis Towers Watson as a Senior Client Manager in the ARM department. In this role, they were responsible for managing client needs, identifying and analyzing client exposures, and designing insurance programs that matched the client's risk management approach. Joe also created market submissions and used analytics to have more meaningful conversations with clients and prospects about why they buy the insurance they do. In July 2019, Joe left Willis Towers Watson to join Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. as the Director of Real Estate Risk Management. In this role, they are responsible for quantifying and mitigating risk of real estate investment property funds to optimize any risk transfer solutions and protect long-term profitability of investors.

Joe Welch attended Gustavus Adolphus College, where they studied management. After graduation, they worked in management for a few years before returning to school to get their MBA.
