Danny Kim

CEO & Founder at Lit Motors

Danny Kim is the CEO and founder of Lit Motors, a company that specializes in electric vehicles. Danny has a background in titanium bicycle building and CAD/CAM machine milling.

Kim started their career as a production design manager at Vanilla Bicycles, where they were responsible for researching and designing a production run of 25 custom race frames per month. Danny then moved to the MIT Media Lab, where they led a team of architects and engineers to prototype an inductive charging station for the City of Boston's Green Wheel bike share program.

In 2008, Kim became a vehicle architect and sustainable design consultant at Local Motors. Danny then took on the role of engineering team leader at the Vehicle Design Summit. In 2009, they founded Lit Motors, which has since become one of the leading companies in the electric vehicle industry.

Danny Kim dropped out of Reed College after one year of studying pre-medicine/pre-medical studies. Danny then went on to study industrial design at the Rhode Island School of Design. After graduation, they worked for a time in the field of smart cities at the MIT Media Lab. Currently, they are studying architecture at the University of California, Berkeley.
