Kendrick Tang has a varied work experience. In 2013, they interned at Boeing, where they developed an interpolation tool used to identify and track satellites, documented research on error propagates through a Keplerian orbit determination algorithm, and reduced redundancy within Boeing SVS's modeling library. In 2012, they were a Grader and Teaching Assistant for EE 503 at the University of Washington, where they TAed a graduate level class despite having no qualifications to do so. Kendrick was also an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Washington in 2012, where they automated the generation and steady-state analysis of dynamic neural networks, determined correlation between a neural network's architecture and the heterogeneity of its neural activity at steady state, and presented their findings at the University of Washington's Undergraduate Research Symposium. In 2016, they were an Independent Contractor at Upside Commerce, Inc. and a Data Analyst to Software Engineer at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, where they forecasted things. From 2019 to present, they have been a Software Engineer at Google. Kendrick is currently a Software Engineer at Little Otter.

Kendrick Tang attended the University of Washington from 2010 to 2015, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mathematics.
