Matthew Gardner has over 10 years of work experience in the field of nutrition. Matthew began their career in 2012 as a Performance Nutritionist for the Worcester Warriors. Matthew then joined CORPERFORMANCE LLP in 2016 as a Performance Nutritionist and Exercise Consultant. That same year, they also began working with The North Face, a VF Company, as a Consulting Performance Nutritionist and Group Trainer. In 2014, they took on the role of Consulting Performance Nutritionist and Personal Trainer with The Engine Room. Matthew then established Matt Gardner Nutrition in 2016, where they work with '9-5 Athletes' to optimize training, recovery, and performance through realistic and effective nutrition strategies. In 2018, they began hosting the Big Feed Up HQ Podcast, which has had over 190 episodes and 60,000 listens. In 2020, they joined Liva Healthcare - lifestyle & disease management as a Health & Lifestyle Coach. Most recently, in 2021, they began working with My Vital Metrics as a Body Composition & Fitness Testing Consultant. Matthew is currently employed as a Business Development & Sales Manager for Zooki.

Matthew Gardner completed a BSc (Hons) in Sports and Exercise Sciences at the University of Birmingham from 2009 to 2011. Matthew then pursued a Postgraduate Certificate in Nutrition, Physical Activity and Public Health at the University of Bristol from 2011 to 2012. In 2013 and 2014, they obtained an International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN) Postgraduate Diploma from the Institute of Performance Nutrition. Matthew then completed a Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy degree from CNM College of Naturopathic Medicine from 2014 to 2017. In November 2021, they obtained a SENR - Graduate certification from the British Dietetic Association (BDA). In January 2021, they obtained a mBANT certification from the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine.
