We’re looking for a Manager of People Operations to own human resources support across Living Carbon on issues including recruiting, performance management, compensation and rewards, staff relations, and people development. Living Carbon is currently a team of almost 50 people across two locations, and we raised our Series A in 2022. This role has potential for significant growth, and there will be an opportunity to build and oversee the team and processes to scale these functions.
Responsibilities
- Own performance reviews and promotion cycles at Living Carbon
- Manage any human resource issues quickly and with the highest level of professionalism
- Provide a clear, trusted point of contact for employees and answer questions about benefits, company policies, and other HR questions
- Support managers (including highly technical managers) in developing their people management skills and empowering them to guide the career growth of reports
- Collect and analyze data from Lattice, company surveys, and other sources to identify ways to improve company culture
- Identify and implement employee development opportunities such as manager training
- Improve our hiring processes with a greater focus on diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI) and a better top-of-funnel for recruiting
- Ensure smooth onboarding of all new employees including ensuring they have access to necessary resources and tech
- Conduct a benefits refresh including evaluation of potential new benefits
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in a HR function in a fast-paced and/or startup environment
- Expert ability to work with technical executives and be a thought partner in navigating organizational changes
- Experience building people operations, human resources, and/or recruiting teams
- Experience building, maintaining, and presenting HR data analytics
- High empathy and social intelligence with experience resolving complex situations and building strong relationships with diverse groups
- Creative problem-solving: not discouraged by roadblocks, committed to analyzing a path forward
- Humble, inquisitive and curious attitude toward deeply technical departments and how the science affects OKRs and people dynamics
- Ability to balance big-picture leadership and detailed understanding of multiple functional areas in an organization
