Lawrence M. Schoen

Lawrence M. Schoen is an accomplished author of speculative fiction, primarily focused on science fiction. Since November 2006, Lawrence has operated as an author at Paper Golem LLC, producing works such as the debut novel "Buffalito Destiny" in 2009. Notably, Lawrence received a 2007 Astounding Award nomination for Best New Writer and a 2010 Hugo Award nomination for Best Short Story. Additionally, from December 2021, Lawrence has collaborated with Brian Thorne on urban fantasy novels under LMBPN® Publishing, with projects including "Soul Bottles." Since July 2013, works published with Tor Books include "Barsk: The Elephants' Graveyard," a finalist for the Nebula Award and the recipient of the Coyotl Award for Best Novel of the Year, along with its sequel. Beyond writing, Lawrence has held various academic roles, including Director at the Klingon Language Institute and numerous professorships in psychology. Lawrence's educational background features degrees in Cognitive Psychology and Psycholinguistics from Kansas State University and California State University, Northridge.
