Lisa Tipton

Performing Violinist/musician at AFM, Local 802

Lisa Tipton is an accomplished violinist and music educator with extensive experience in various prestigious roles. Currently serving as a Violinist for the NY Chamber Music Coop since September 2016, Tipton is dedicated to promoting social justice through creative chamber music programming. Additionally, Tipton has directed the Chamber Music Program for the New York Youth Symphony and has contributed as a Conductor and Chamber Music Coach at the School for Strings since 2000. A seasoned Broadway musician since 1987, Tipton has performed as a violinist in numerous well-known shows, including Phantom and Aladdin. Tipton is also a member of AFM Local 802 as a performing musician and has been a violinist with the NY Chamber Music CoOp/Meridian String Quartet since 1983. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance from The Graduate Center, City University of New York, along with degrees from Cornell University and Juilliard.
