Sergey Chebykin has been in the software engineering industry since 2002. Sergey began their career as a Chief Software Engineer at Inreco LAN, where they were responsible for software design and development, project management, and team leading and building. In 2005, they became a Graduate Assistant at Vladimir State University, where they taught Object Oriented Design and acted as a teaching assistant for the courses of Object Oriented Design and Networks. In 2011, they became a Software Developer at Better World Books, where they designed, developed, and maintained software for operations and e-commerce, and managed an outsourcing development team. From 2012 to 2018, they worked at @WalmartLabs, first as a Staff Software Engineer, then as a Senior Software Engineer. In 2018, they joined Atlassian as a Principal Software Engineer, and also founded Localie, a service helping travelers find inspiring locals around the globe.

Sergey Chebykin obtained a Bachelor degree in Computer Science and Information Science from Vladimir State University between 1999 and 2003. Sergey then went on to obtain a Master degree in Computer Science and Information Management from the same university between 2003 and 2005.
