Jonathon Clarke

Jonathon Clarke is the CEO and founder of Locate a Locum, a company that helps connect locum pharmacists with pharmacies in need of their services. Prior to starting their own company, Clarke worked as a hospital pharmacist for the Belfast Health & Social Care Trust from April 2013 to May 2016. In this role, they participated in clinical ward rounds, conducted patient medication drug histories and medicine reconciliations, answered questions about medicines from within the hospital and outside, completed clinical checks on hospital prescriptions, performed accuracy checks on dispensed pharmacy medicines including red-list and clinical trial research drugs, undertook teaching sessions with junior medical staff, and participated in clinical governance and controlled drug audits.

Before working as a hospital pharmacist, Clarke was self-employed as a locum pharmacist from July 2012 to March 2013. In this role, they acted as the responsible pharmacist in the safe and effective operation of the pharmacy, accurately and efficiently dispensed drugs according to prescription, provided information and advice to both patients and healthcare professionals, oversaw the provision of minor ailments service and smoking cessation scheme, trained and supervised other pharmacy staff, and maintained pharmaceutical stock. This role gave Clarke experience of working within many pharmacies across Northern Ireland, interacting with different staff and witnessing different working practices.

Clarke has always been passionate about helping others and making a difference in their community. Jonathon decided to start their own company, Locate a Locum, in order to make it easier for locum pharmacists to find work and help pharmacies in need of their services. Jonathon Clarke completed a Masters of Pharmacy (MPHARM) at Queen's University Belfast. Prior to that, they completed GCSE/A LEVEL studies at Belfast Boys Model School.
