Thomas May has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Thomas began their career in media sales as an Account Manager at KMST-TV. Thomas then transitioned to a role as a Territory Manager at BIC before becoming a Sales Manager at Corporate Express. Thomas continued to climb the corporate ladder, serving as a Division/Branch Manager at Joyce Office Products and later as a VP Global Accounts at Staples. Thomas joined SeeUThere.com as a Sales Manager before moving to Office Depot as a Global Business Development Manager, where they were responsible for acquiring large national and global accounts. Thomas then took on the role of Principal at StrategyFifty, a consulting company focused on helping corporations and new ventures grow their sales. Currently, they are also a Principal at RTRO Energy, where they help companies reduce energy usage and develop cash flow-positive investments in energy reduction. In addition to their professional experience, Thomas served as the VP of Sales at Lockdowel.

Thomas May attended the University of California, Berkeley from 1972 to 1974. Thomas completed their Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Marketing and Advertising during this time.
