Pedro Marques da Silva

Pedro Marques da Silva has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Pedro began their career as a Software Developer at M&P Consultadoria Informática and the Portuguese Air Force, where they gained experience in software development. Pedro then worked as an Application Developer and Analyst at ICR SA and as a System Architect at Exportech - Biometria e Segurança Electrónica.

In 2010, Pedro joined the Center of Informatics and Information Technology (CITI FCT UNL) as an MsC Student/Researcher, where they focused on the design of a simulator for wireless sensor networks and studied security protocols.

Pedro later worked at the Portuguese Air Force Academy, where they served in various roles such as Senior Research Software Engineer, Programming languages lecturer, System Administrator, and Campus Network engineer. Pedro was involved in designing and implementing network services/security, Linux administration, and web applications.

Pedro then transitioned to the gaming industry, joining Miniclip as a Senior Software Developer in the Backend team. Pedro eventually became the Head of Game Services, responsible for leading backend development and overseeing game services.

Pedro then joined AQUIRIS as the Head of Engineering, where they led technological initiatives for the development and operation of games using Unreal Engine 4, C++, and Blueprints. Pedro also played a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining systems for concurrent gameplay.

Currently, Pedro serves as the Senior Engineering Director at Lockwood Publishing Ltd, where they continue to contribute their expertise in engineering leadership.

Throughout their career, Pedro has demonstrated expertise in software development, system administration, network architecture, and leading teams in the gaming industry.

Pedro Marques da Silva's education history includes earning a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Portuguese Air Force Academy, which they attended from 2002 to 2005. Afterward, they pursued further education at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, where they completed a post-graduate LIC degree in Computer Engineering from 2005 to 2007. Pedro then went on to obtain a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from the same university between 2008 and 2010.

In terms of certifications, Pedro completed the Novell Suse Linux Professional program at Novell Education in 2008. Pedro also obtained certifications as a Suse Linux Administrator and Suse Linux Professional from Novell Inc. in July 2008.
