Kristen Sylvan

Kristen Sylvan is an experienced school psychologist currently serving at Locust Valley Central School District since September 2017, with a previous role at Western Suffolk BOCES focusing on special education summer school from July 2017 to August 2021. Kristen’s background includes multiple roles at Adelphi University, including Learning Strategist, Peer Mentor Supervisor, Academic Supervisor, and Teaching Assistant for courses in Intellectual and Neurological Assessment. Kristen also contributed as a volunteer peer mentor for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, completed a school psychology internship at Wantagh Union Free School District, and worked as a therapist at Derner-Hempstead Child Clinic, where responsibilities included psychological assessments and therapy for at-risk children. Kristen holds a Master of Arts in School Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Adelphi University, as well as a diploma from St. Anthony's High School.
