Matthew Hassett

Founder, CEO, and President at Loftie

Matthew Hassett has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. In 2008, they held roles as a Watson Associate and C.V. Starr Fellow at Brown University. From 2009 to 2010, they served as a Policy Analyst for Distressed Asset Financing Programs at the NYC Dept. of Housing Preservation and Development, where they managed foreclosure mitigation initiatives and co-wrote a successful federal grant application. Matthew then worked as an Analyst in Global Sustainable Finance at Morgan Stanley from 2010 to 2011. From 2011 to 2016, they joined the Center for New York City Neighborhoods, initially as a Program Manager for the Mortgage Assistance Program (MAP), and later became the Director of Lending and Director of Policy and Communications. Matthew achieved notable accomplishments, including designing and launching MAP, increasing press coverage, and leading strategic communications efforts. In 2017, they joined IDEO as an Entrepreneur in Residence. Most recently, in 2018, they founded Loftie and assumed the roles of Founder, CEO, and President.

Matthew Hassett attended The Potomac School for their high school education. Matthew then went on to attend Brown University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Subsequently, they enrolled at the Harvard Kennedy School and completed a Master's in Public Policy between 2016 and 2018.
